Update 20th March
Since our last update we have activated our comprehensive contingency plans and remain fully committed to supporting the national response to the Coronavirus pandemic, while ensuring that the safety of our staff, suppliers and customers is uncompromised.
Read on for some of the highlights of what we are doing to provide the continuity of service you expect from us.
Great relationships with our suppliers pays when it counts
Our suppliers are part of the extended Simply Cartons family. We have long standing relationships with UK and international suppliers over many years. We’ve pulled together to maintain stock on site and our ‘just in time’ delivery to guarantee supply of board for production.
It’s made for some interesting deliveries in the yard as we all comply with social distancing advice; check out our social channels to see how we’re doing it!
Keeping production lines open and scaling up with demand
Our staff have rallied into action, increasing capacity across our global network of sites, adopting flexible shift patterns to support each other and most importantly our customers so that you can continue to deliver for their customers. We are immensely proud of our teams across the business going above and beyond in very challenging conditions.
Serving customers and keeping them informed
Our service and account management teams are home working and using video conferencing to provide regular updates to customers, deliver on existing commitments and meet an upsurge in demand.
Follow us on our social channels for regular updates in the coming days and in the meantime, here is a reminder of the steps we are taking to prevent the spread of Coronavirus:
- Enhanced cleaning procedures at all sites including cleaning door handles and operator consoles
- Additional hand washing facilities and sanitiser gel, and all staff washing hands on arrival to site, every 30 minutes whilst onsite, and when exiting the site.
- Masks and gloves are being worn by operators at all times on all sites
- Temperature checks on all personnel
- No crossover of staff between sites and the prevention of visitors to any site
- Staff operating a triple shift pattern, with no crossover of staff between shifts
- Dedicated toilets for external personal, such as delivery drivers.
- Clocking in process updated from fingerprint recognition to key fobs for all staff members

For now, I ask for all of our customers to trust in the support and service you have come to expect from Simply Cartons. We are here, working together to ensure the continued supply of your packaging, without fail.
As I write to you today, I am pleased to confirm that no Simply Cartons staff member or their families have been diagnosed with Corona Virus.
